• Over 85% of Burke meat is from local Midwest suppliers.
• Burke uses environmentally friendly inks on labels, and reduces waste by eliminating excess pallets, boxes and other plastics incoming and outgoing products.
• All of Burke’s non-recyclables are disposed of at a waste-to-energy facility, which recovers reusable metals and garbage to provide energy to more than 4,600 homes per year.
• Burke has been recognized numerous times for efforts in sustainability and environmental practice, including Sustainability Best of the Best award for Water Reduction & the Governor’s Iowa Environmental Excellence award.
• Burke provides financial and leadership support to community initiatives and monetary and product donations to local community groups.
